How to Array an object around a centre point
Part 1
1.Let's start with a sheet of paper and add an object near the top and centre it on the page.
Note: A quick way to centre a single object on the page is to click on the "Center Horizontally" button on the attribute toolbar.
2. Add a vertical and horizontal guideline that intersects the center of your paper.

3. Select the star and click on the Transform tool and then the Rotate Tool on the Attibute toolbar

4. What you will see is the Rotation Center Point in the centre of the star.

5. Now here is the cool part, move the Rotation Center Point from the centre of the star to the centre of your paper. |

Part 2
Since I want 12 stars I divide 360 by 12 and I get 30. We want to leave the original and make a copy at a 30 degree rotation. So...
6. Enter 30 for the rotation amount and select Clockwise from the Copy Rotate drop down menu.

7. Repeat hitting the Copy Rotate button so you get 12 stars. Viola!
