Part 1 - Create the Bended Photo
Let's start by adding a photo to your page. Make sure the photo is on it's own Layer and it's not the background.

For this lesson I have a digital paper on the bottom layer and I have dragged and dropped a photo on the top layer. |
Step 1 Using the Stroke function, we're going to add a Frame. Make sure you are on the Photo Layer. Click on Edit > Stroke. The Stroke window comes up (see below). Enter 45 in the Width and select White for Colour. Click on the radial button in Location for Inside. |

Step 2 Here is where the secret to Bended Frames come in: Select your rectangular marquee tool and draw a box around your photo, but make sure you marquee a larger area around the photo. Yep, that's the secret, most people try this trick by selecting just the photo. But for the next part to work you need a larger selection area. |

Step 3 - Bend the photo Click on FILTER > DISTORT > SHEAR. The Shear window will pop up (see right). Click on the default button to make sure all the setting revert to normal. Move the mouse pointer to the center of the straight line and pull slightly to the right. Note: You just need to move it slightly. |

Step 5 Right-mouse click on the Drop Shadow option in the layer panel and a popup window will appear. Select Create Layer. Click OK when this window appears:
That will break apart the Shadow and put it on it's own layer. (see below)
|
Make sure you have the Photo's Drop Shadow layer selected. Step 6 Now flip the layer by clicking on the Edit Menu, select Transform and choose Flip Horizontal. Once it's flipped then use your arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge the shadow down and to the right.
